PATH FORWARD.

The Show Must Be Paused has started by formalizing working groups comprised of music industry leaders, broken into four committees, with three shared areas of focus.

The four committees are:

1. Labels & Publishers

2. Creators, Managers & Legal

3. DSPs & Radio

4. Partners, Agencies & Touring Entities

All committees will discuss how to take action in areas of representation, social responsibility and holistic compensation as it pertains to Black artists, partners and staff. As we continue to engage these groups and empower our leaders to start formal and informal conversations amongst their teams, note that these teams will not be ideating in a vacuum. They will be making collective demands. Demands that we change the way we talk about Black music and creators in the corporate settings. Demands that Black people be elevated to positions of power and influence within music organizations. Demands that we protect the creative prowess of Black artists and creators. Demands that require stewardship and accountability in an effort to back each verbal commitment with a corresponding financial one, as needed. Every day presents an opportunity to expand our collective power.
